"A fragrance between fresh and
rich, with olibanum echoes and
incredible gleaming power!
"

- a German perfumer once said about the

The wonderful fragrance of this plant is used for aroma therapy. In her home country India, she is amongst others used for the making of body oils, bath additives and vanishing cremes.

Panikoorka (Coleus Aromaticus) - the little herb plant from Kerala.

Panikoorka (lat. Pashanbheda Coleus Aromaticus) is an ayurveda medical plant from Kerala, with different names as e.g. Navara or Navarayila, Karpooravalli, Omavalli, Suganda, Pashanbheda (or also Pashanbhanda). There are also several different latin names: Coleus aromaticus and Plectranthus amboinicus all are the same plant.

The jagged, silky leaves are of light green colour. The multiplication is quite easy with cions.

All kinds of cions are cut off just below a leave "knot" . At this spot, the cells are most active, so that out of this cut new roots grow quite fast. The best is to remove all leaves despite a few at the top - this reduces the loss of humidity by transpiration, and the remaining leaves ensure the build-up of organic substances by photosynthesis.

Panikkoorka is used for the treatment of many diseases in India. You can find numerous reports on this in the internet.

AT THIS POINT WE REALLY WANT TO POINT OUT: THIS PLANT DOES NOT REPLACE THE VISIT AT THE DOCTOR'S, TRADITIONAL HEALER OR THERAPIST!

This website is dedicated to the wellness aspect as well as the world wide network thought - with the help of this plant.
